youth, clouds, and Dear John

i came across this quote again the other day:

"youth is wasted on the young."

perhaps it is. but perhaps it isn't. to me, youth is all about doing now what you can't do later; it even means wasting what you've got now that you can't waste later. youth is about truly living, about trying new and different things, about putting yourself out there, even if you get hurt. youth is never wasted, so long as you try to live.

so a couple days ago i watched the movie Dear John. it was the saddest romance movie i've ever seen...really. i started crying about 20 or so minutes into the movie, and didn't stop until the end. in fact, i was so occupied with crying that i forgot to talk the last part of the movie. Nicholas Sparks really has a flair for writing utterly sad romances, doesn't he? i wonder whatever happened to his love life to make him that way.
even though it's extremely heartwrenching, Dear John is still an incredible movie. i definitely recommend it. just be prepared for the waterworks.

and to continue my nature appreciation, today's theme is clouds. i adore clouds -- how they're so puffy, so purely white, so soft and gentle, drifting softly on the breeze. i love looking up into the blue sky and seeing them above me.
